I have decided that next year we will triple our garden space. We arent doing to bad on quantity right now, but i feel like we are going to get one good harvest and then be out of luck. So next year we will have to plan a little better and stagger our planting, and make extensive use of the early spring time! Also i am really ready to reap the benefits of a garden and nothing is ready to pick so it is killing me paying for vegetables at the store that we have growing in our garden!

my struggling egg plants, recently spayed with orange oil, we will see if they survive

the discovery of ants killing my mellon plants, looks like they are wilting the leaves and congregating beneath them

i read some where that ants really hate cucumbers, so i juiced one and sprayed  it on my mellon plants

finally a good bug!!

The Start of My Garden 2012
This year we started seeds on the inside and added 5 more raised beds

Tomatoes
So we grew and grew our little baby seeds!! We seeded out side with lettuce, beets, collards, chard, kale, and strawberries, onions, and leeks. Planted starter cabbage and broccoli. It was all going great and the we had to go home for three weeks...

We waited as long as we could to plan our baby seeds from inside, but we had to do it before we left and none of the tomatoes peppers or eggplants survived.

We came home to a flourishing garden, and we LOVED it for about 2 weeks. then the rabbits and grounds hogs demolished out greens, the broccoli bloomed(little yellow flowers) and the bugs ate our cabbage. Our onions were still doing good. but then this unknown weed that we have never seen before rooted itself deep deep into the onion box, and even the onions that were almost ready to harvest died... the weed is still there, unable to be pulled up, for it is just too big!!!

Its too bad because our garden was amazing, we will have to try something different for our fall greens, because i couldn't keep the weeds at bay. And my lack of caring increased as the groundhog decreased our garden size :(

Here are some pictures during Easter
our boxes ready to be planted, one with our onions already in it!

our herb boxes behind river, Andy worked diligently to make them exactly how i wanted!

Pierce standing on our flagstone patio.... we had the little slate stepping stoned from the previous owner, they weren't doing us any good, and were way over grown and covered in ants, so Andy dug them up.... and much to our surprise they were about 3 times the sizes we thought they were!!!! so we made a patio out of them!!!
i will post pictures of our weed garden later!
